We have a 2005 GMC Yukon. Dealer had car for more than three weeks..symptom...boiling white smoke when we turned car on. Worse after sitting for a few hours. Worse if we drive faster MPH - 65 - 70 into town which is 38 miles one way. After cleaning the left valve cover got car back from dealer who swore that holes for draining oil back into engine were stopped up. Drove car home, and when I restarted had same probl. Now, have car with local ASE certified mechanic who has found that oil is ''held on top of engine''. ''Oil being held in manifold ??''. Car still not fixed, and everybody is stumped.!! Sound to me your valve guides are worn and letting oil get past the valves and being burnt in the engine,I hope this helps you and thanks for useing use at fixya
There is an engineering flaw with the valve cover, I had mine replaced with an updated valve cover at the dealer and it solved the problem.
