IF YOU MESSED UP SPARK THE ENGINE WOULD SHAKE SUPER HARD AND HORRIBLE POWER AND NOT GO FAST ENOUGH TO GET TO 2ND GEAR.
IF ENGINE (NONE TOLD ) HAS COIL PACK WITH 2 OR MORE SPARK WIRES, THOSE MUST NEVER BE MIXED UP.

The front coil pack fires six cylinders and the rearward coil pack fires four cylinders.
NEVER MIX THESE UP
5/10, 9/8, 1/6, 7/4 and 3/2.

ONLY CHANGE SPARK PLUG 1 AT A TIME.
ONLY CHANGE COIL PACK HV SPARK WIRES, 1 AT A TIME
OR FAIL YOU WILL. (OR BUY NGK COIL PACKS THAT ARE MARKED CORRECTLY )

You mean coil #5?

is the coil getting power \? could be the coil buddy. also check the fuse and relay for the coil.

I'm assuming this is a 5.7 hemi. Remove the 8 coil packs that are bolted to the top of the valve cover. You can do 1 at a time. Each coil pack has two spark plugs under it . use a 5/8 spark plug socket and extention. If its a 4.7 the coil packs are held on by one 10mm nut. These packs are just inside the valve cover on both sides of the engine. There will be only one 5/8 plug for each pack

Looking from the front of the engine everything on the right is odd number starting with 1-3-5-7-9. and everything to your left will be even starting with 2-4-6-8-10. The coil pack in front to the right will be 3-7-1. and to the left it is 2-4-6. On the rear coil pack to the right it is 9-5. And to the left on rear coil pack it will be 8-10. Hope this will help you.

For ALL 2004 Dodge RAM (1500, 2500, and 3500) (2WD and 4WD) 5.7L V8 Hemi:

This should have been located at the top of the your Intake Manifold.

Tps, iat and cts sensors run on 5 volt reference. You have no power to the coil when cranking right? Have you checked the Auto Shut Down Relay?

you need to test power to the coil with the key turned to the on position you can supply an alternate power source to the coil but if you forget the power on and turn off the motor the coil will burn out if left power'd up for to long ,here's a bandaid fix * run a wire from the + to a switch then to the coil . and remember to turn it off when you stop the engine and turn it on to energize it . should get you your spark back if you dont want to mess with ignition or pay a garage 80$ lol good luck.
