Replace the main earth cable complete.
Don't guess what's wrong, get it tested first.
You probably didn't need any of the parts you replaced.

SOURCE: 99 jeep cherokee sport 4.0l 6cyl voltage will go to 19v

The problem sounds intermittent, if you put volt meter on the battery while it is at that 19volt mark/reading(on the gauge cluster) you will be able to see if it is true. If your alternator is really charging over 16volts the lights should be getting brighter then usual and/or they are burning out. Find out ASAP, if the alternator has a defective voltage regulator, it needs to be replaced. Prolong use will damage components.

SOURCE: My 2003 Alero's horn doesn't

Check with a voltmeter that current actually reaches the horn connectors. If it does receive electricity, then the horn has blown..(no pun). If it doesn't receive electricity then the cable has been severed somewhere between the fuse and the horn.

Gauges going wild suggests bad news - I hope I am wrong but it is the sort of thing that happens when a battery or jump starter is momentarily connected the wrong way around - fully computerised car with lots of electronics that are easily damaged.

Alternatively perhaps a wire hasn't been connected that should have been.

It might have been helpful if you had provided more details, such as when the trouble began - did you replace the above because it wouldn't start or perhaps it wouldn't start after the replacements?

2003 Oldsmobile Alero won't start

Chances are you got water inside the fuse box or a wiring harness connection.
You may have to start tracing circuits to find out what is getting power and what is not.

My temp gauge on my 2003 alero goes up or down but have not ran hot. just had enginereplaced

first unconnect the battery then open your fuse box there should be a paper on the panel you lift off to see the fuses that paper should be a diagram of which fuses go to what these usually vary from make and model u probably have a bad fuse so u will have to to pick and chose from the diagram and pull the fuse that has something to do with the problem check to see if its bad if u dont know what ur looking at u should see a metal bar inside the fuse if it is broken then the fuse is bad once u do that if it isn't a bad fuse it could just be bad connection so make sure all the fuses are pushed in good if this isn't that let me know there are a few other solutions

"2003 Chevy Impala won't start". Car would not

The alternator is not charging,or the battery wont take a charge. If all accessories work fine when its running after you've boosted it,its likely the battery.

You've got a bad battery - it just doesn't have the required cranking amps anymore. Replace your battery.

2000 olds alero 2.4 engine. charging system is not working. replaced alternator and still wont charge the battery.

Check the owners manual for the car and look at the fuses. Sometimes theres a fuse for the alternator. If everything is good there check and make sure the power wire going to the alternator is good. It should have battery voltage here.

THE RED SMALL POSITIVE BATTERY FEED WIRE COULD BE BROKEN THAT GOES TO BACK OF ALTERNATOR.CHECK TO SEE IF POWER GOING TO THE WIRE.IT NOT POSITIVE BATTERY SMALL FEED CABLE BROKEN.OR YOU HAVE BLOWN FUSE LINK.IF ALL IS GOOD YOU COULD HAVE PCM PROBLEMS YOUR FIELD CONTROL CIRCUIT PART OF THE PCM CIRCUIT.HAVE VECHICLE SCANNED TO LOOK FOR ALTERNATOR PCM FAULT. AFTER YOU INSTALL NEW ALTERNATOR DONT CRANK THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET A SCANNER AND ERASE TROUBLE CODE FIRST BECAUSE THE PCM THINK OLD ALTERNATOR STILL IN VECHICLE AND WILL CAUSE CHARGING PROBLEMS.

check the alternator voltage , it has to be 13.8 to 14.4 vdc. it sounds like your car is running off the battery alone. Sometimes a bad battery will take out an alternator, and after replacing it goes again.Check all connections, and check the feedback terminal on the alternator is telling the alternator to switch on.
