Rear fog light not working 2005 smart for four pulse Checked lamp and fuse fuse 17

check fuse--relay--switch-bulbs==use a meter to test switch connectors--wiring--sockets

fuse labelled 'F1R' which is 20A and dedicated to the rear fog lamps. Interestingly it looks like this same fuse also is responsible for all the rear brake lights. If they don't work either, then this is the culprit. If they do, then work back from the rear cluster assembly to check for faults. Firstly, the wires to the fog lamp should be white (live) and black (earth). The only other difference I can spot is that they do NOT share the same earthing point. They are labelled on the diagram as E8 (brakes) and E7 (fog lamp). The earth point is maybe a grey wire on the right hand tailgate /might be the other side on left hand drives. It may be loose or corroded. Switch on fog lamp and use a multimeter to check the earthing and if voltage is present.

hiya first thing u need to do is earth both negitive sides of the new foglights to chasiss of the car then with a test lamp find the positive switching wire at the rear of the original light and connect with a scotchlock or solder it to the two positive cables comin out the aftermarket fogs then you can switch them on useing your original fog switch it may need a bigger fuse

there is a relay for them.are you sure is not bulb.

Look for a relay in the realy box under the hood. It sounds like the relay is failing.

I have a 2004 f150 xlt triton. I couldn't figure out the how to turn on the fog lamps and the manual was not helpful.

Solution: turn the light switch all the way to the right and pull the switch (out) towards you. Push switch in and it turns off. The manual says to turn switch all the way to right but doesn't say to pull switch out.

Try pulling the fuse for the DRL (daytime running lights.)

hi from uk the fog lghts? i assume front fog lamps ? the head lights have to be on dipped beam then the fogs will also work but in uk this is so as to prevent fogs only being used (blinding oncoming traffic ) if weather conditions req fogs to be used for poor visibility ? then the side/tail and h/lights must also be on like wise the rear fog light/s operate the same way hope this helps and makes perfect sense ?? all above is assuming bulbs have been checked and fuse/relay and power to each lamp ?
