2005 vw polo 1.9 tdi wont start

if it starts when you pour fuel in the intake.. then fuel is not reaching the tbi from the tank..you say you put a new fuel pump on this..did you bleed the fuel lines? if not do this because there is an airlock in those lines..either you need to open a fuel line at the tbi unit to bleed it all out.. or be looking at a clogged up fuel filter..

When my truck is cold,it starts like every other truck out there. When my truck is warm,it has a really hard time starting. It doesnt start unless I put my throttle to the floor. Its a throttle body

What it sounds like is the fuel pressure regulator has gone
bad. It is located on the intake manifold inline with the fuel
line going to the throttle body. This little regulator has a single
vacuum line going to it. Most parts stores carry them in stock.
I hope this has helped.

My 95 4runner cranks but wont start,i ran it till fully empty but put a little gas in it. it sounds like it wants to start but it doesnt

ok... the large "hose that goes between the air filter and the intake manifold, it is easy to take off with just a screwdriver. take off the end closest to the intake. spray some starting fluid in there and turn the key. this has worked for me in the past. you may have to do it more than once. sometimes these things can be stubborn. post how it goes. good luck ! My 2002 VW Jetta tdi , wont start.Fuel shut off solinoid OK . Has fuel at injectors. First wouldnt go past 20 mph.Timing belt apears fine. Can the ecm keep it from starting?

The first thing to check is the intake cutoff valve. It's similar to a throttle body, but is usually fully open until the engine is shut off, then it closes fully to minimize engine shudder.
Sometimes carbon will build up in the bore where it sits, and after it closes it will not reopen.
It's the first part of the intake after the plastic tube from the maf sensor/air filter housing.
You can pretty much just put your hand on it and push around a little bit, and the spring will return it to the open position. It has an arm sticking out that is actuated by a vacuum solenoid.
I thought of this because you said it would not accelerate, and carbon also builds up inside the intake manifold, reducing airflow so much that it can't get enough to accelerate.

This is assuming that you've got a situation where the engine is cranking, but not starting.

Let me know if this helps or if you have more questions. They often have problems with the glow plug circuit, but this should set a trouble code.

I have a 2000 Jetta TDI ran fine and than went to start it and just cranks and will not start. I have tried everything, glow plug ok, all sensors ok, put new relay 109, new fuel filter. Still will not...

Does it crank faster than normal and sound a little funny?
Sometimes the air intake cutoff valve will get stuck. It's similar to a throttle valve but only closes the intake when the engine is shut off.
It's located in the first metal part of the engine when you follow the air intake from the air filter housing. It's controlled by a small vacuum diaphragm, just open the hood and feel around on the engine where the black plastic boot connets to the first metal part of the intake manifold. If you just nudge it, it will open and the car will start right up.
If that fixes it, just remove the boot and clean the plate with some carburetor cleaner. MAKE SURE ALL CARB CLEAN IS EVAPORATED BEFORE STARTING ENGINE. If you don't the engine will rev like crazy.

Hi Mark try spraying some starting fluid in the intake. You asked about putting petrol in the carburettor...your 1992 Saab has a carburettor? Impossible. That vehicle is fuel injected.Spray the starting fluid lightly or you'll flood the engine.

2000 Jetta TDI: How do I change spark plugs on 2000 VW jetta 2.0...

You're in the TDI (diesel) solutions section so it uses glow plugs.
If it's a petrol engine 2.0L then it would be accessible above and below intake manifold using a swivel spark plug deep socket.
