First is to determine if there is a spurious current leak from the 12 v system. measure the current out of it with a good meter and turn everything off if not already. Start pulling fuses until the source is found and trace that circuit for the issue. The 12V charges from the high volt system if its anything like out Toyota Hybrid. And if it were the HV battery, then charging the 12V one so that you could start should expose a HV battery that shows significant drain from sitting. Does it? Did they verify the inverter (Charges the 12V) is working properly? Think of it as an alternator for hybrids.

SOURCE: Dead battery replace, died again 3 days later

12 volt is actually a misnomer of sorts... it's actually closer to 13.8 volts i believe. if the voltage regulator is not working right you could very well be frying the battery. replacing it is the cost of the alternator + labour (unless you do it yourself).

SOURCE: my 2002 cadillac keeps turning off while im

Really is the battery symbol in the display, is not the "check engine" symbol?

- Possibly the Oxygen sensor needs replacing as the sympton you describe is usually what happens when the O2 sensor malfunctions
- Had the Oxygen (MAP) sensor changed, and it is running great. Even getting better gas mileage.
- The fuel pump harness, tends to melt, even though it is in the fuel, this is so common, after a new fuel pump.

Other owner comment for a '95 sedan deville 4.9L... "and my car keeps on cuting off. Also, sometime it shuts off while driving and wont turn on until a few hours have passed by. I changed the fuel pump and fixed this problem temporarily. Clean out your Throttle body and it will quit. Get some good carb cleaner spray, spray in the t- body and stick your fingers in there with a good rag and wipe out the carbon that is built up inside it. Let someone press down the accelerator to open the t-body up while you are cleaning it. The start the car and spray some in the t-body while it is running and stop using cheap gas."

I hope help you with this.

SOURCE: 1997 Chevy s-10 pickup (2.2L) Blower Motor problem

I don't know what you mean by temp module but i'am gessing the switch on the dash, but to me it sounds like the resister is bad, i believe its located under the hood on the air box if not than chk. under the dash by the heater motor, i have seen the wires burn that plug into it when they go bad, thats what makes the blower run and also regulates the speeds of the blower motor.

Hi I have Toyota Prius alpha hybrid 2014 my Auxiliary battery dead some time live but on battery say no add water but there is no water inside battery normally all battery are with water please help me...

The main hybrid battery used in the Toyota Prius hybrid, including the Prius Alpha, is a high-voltage nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery pack. Unlike regular maintenance that involves adding water, this battery pack does not require such maintenance. However, there is a smaller 12-volt auxiliary battery that is responsible for powering the accessories and starting the car, which may require maintenance.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and address the issue:
  • Check the Auxiliary Battery Health:
  • Start by having the 12-volt auxiliary battery tested to ensure it's holding a charge and functioning properly. If the auxiliary battery is old or not holding a charge, it may need to be replaced.
  • Inspect Battery Terminals:
  • Ensure the battery terminals are clean and securely connected. Dirty or corroded terminals can prevent the battery from charging and delivering power.
  • Charge the Auxiliary Battery:
  • If the battery is low on charge, you can charge it using an appropriate battery charger. Make sure to follow the charger's instructions and safety precautions.
  • Check Charging System:
  • Ensure that the vehicle's charging system (alternator) is functioning correctly. If the alternator is not charging the auxiliary battery properly, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
  • Consult a Professional:
  • If the issue persists or if you're unsure about handling electrical components, it's best to consult a professional mechanic or a Toyota service center. They can diagnose the issue accurately and provide appropriate solutions.
Remember, the main hybrid battery (the one that powers the electric drive) in a Toyota Prius is sealed and does not require adding water. It's the 12-volt auxiliary battery that might need maintenance or replacement.

2007 Toyota Prius won't power up. HV battery and 12v battery are both new. Emergency flashers, flashing red car icon, and door lights are all that works? Any ideas?

I seem to recall that the high voltage battery has a module that identifies it to the car. If that is the case, you need to go to the dealership or call a mobile auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer to program in the details of VIN number and mileage.

There are some videos here. I haven't watched them but I hope they are useful.

2002 toyota prius

Hello, the first thing I would recommend that you buy a repair manual that shows step by step instructions, with illustrations I can't do that here. You'll need some common metric tools and a voltmeter, there are high voltages involved and you will need to wear insulated gloves rated at least to 1000 volts DC to prevent severe injury or possibly death.

The actual replacement is not that difficult:
Disconnect the 12 volt auxiliary battery
disconnect the orange service plug on the hybrid battery and tape the connector on the battery
remove the rear seat and the seat back braces
remove the trunk carpet and the spare tire cover
remove the two orange cables going to the front
measure dc voltage at the terminals where the cables were removed there must be less than 1 volt.
remove the 12 mm bolts that connect the battery to the body including the torx bolt
slide the battery back and have someone help to lift it out.

2012 chevy cruze no charge

Disconnect battery while car is running. If car dies altenator is bad. With car not running check battery with volt meter. Should read 12 to 12.46 without engine running. Start car and check battery with volt meter, should read 13 to 13.50. If less than 12 with engine running then altenator is no good.

2002 toyota prius warning light - car with exclamation mark

The light that looks like a car with an exclamation mark in the middle of it is the HYBRID WARNING light (see diagram below) You must scn the onboard computer network to determine why this light is coming on. You also need to scan your computer system to find out why the engine keeps dying. If the hybrid batteries are discharged, they must be properly recharged to prevent serious damage.

CAUTION: Read ALL service and warning lables in the engine compartment before attempting ANY type of service on a hybrid vehicle. The wiring harnesses that have ORANGE connectors are HIGH VOLTAGE connectors and can cause serious injury or death.

DO NOT touch any wiring harness or component that has a HIGH VOLTAGE warning label on it.

My recommendation is to tow the vehicle to a qualified hybrid repair center (preferably the dealer) and get it properly diagnosed and repaired. The high-tech, high voltage systems in this vehicle is nothing for anyone but a trained, certified technician to be messing with.

I have only high beam light

Check the low beam relay, it may have no power to it. If not check the light switch for power at all terminals as you operate it. If the power is Ok then the relay or the bulbs may be faulty.
How old is the battery it may not hold a charge anymore. get it tested with a load test. Make sure the alternator is charging. The battery voltage should read about 14 volts when charging and just over 12 volts when not. Turn on all the lights and see what the voltage is then, should be still 12 volts.
