Remove spark plug wire with a spark plug cable remover tool. Blow out debris around spark plug. Remove spark plug with spark plug socket, extension and ratchet.

Use a gap gauge to set the proper gap on the new spark plug. Screw it in loosely by hand. Then tighten to the published torque spec using a torque wrench. Apply a dab of dielectric grease to the tip of the spark plug cable and reinstall the cable. If you don't have those tools, don't try it.

Changing plugs , is there any parts that have to be removed before you take plug sout?

Sometimes a plastic cover needs to be removed. Otherwise it's just unplugging the sparkplug caps and insert the sparkplug tool to loosen the sparkplug. Make sure nothing falls into the open sparkplug hole once it's out.

Diagnostic states 3rd cylinder mis fire

Hello, Depending on the Year of the car, the cars that had a sparkplug with a remote coil, you could have a bad sparkplug wire or a bad coil-pack or a bad sparkplug. For newer cars, the coil is attached to the sparkplug directly on top.

For those newer designs, the coil would need to be tested for that cylinder. Using an Ohmmeter, with 1 lead on top and the other on the tip which touches the sparkplug, it is a 10,000Ohm resistance.

Accessing the sparkplug coil is different for several engines. You may have to remove the Intake manifold to reach the coil and you may need to remove part of the fuel rail to remove the Intake manifold. Switching out a plug or coil is easy once you can get to it.

You can have your scans done free at Autozone, Oreillys, or Advance autoparts and they will clear the problem codes once you replace parts. I hope this Solution is very helpful to you.

How do I remove the rear three spark plugs on a toyota avalon 1998

Hi, to change spark plug first remove coil over connecting clip ensuring to depress connector release. Next remove coil over retaining bolts. Remove coil over carefully directing coil toward driver side until rubber end able to flex out of sparkplug access tube. Remove sparkplug using sparkplug socket with rubber insert. Had to remove ratchet to gain enough clearance. At this point you should be able to remove sparkplug by tilting extension & socket toward drivers side of car. Then lay horizontal & remove toward passenger side of car. If unable to gain access in this manner you probably have too long an extension. Take care as not to damage spark plug coil over as they are considerably expensive.

Can someone tell me how can I replace the spark plugs on Dodge Caravan 2005, from above?

Open the hood to access the engine compartment. Locate the sparkplugs sitting to the side of the motor. Six wires run to the motor, three on each side.

Twist the rubber boot and pull away from the sparkplugs. This will expose the sparkplug.

Unbolt the sparkplug with a socket wrench. Use a 5/8-inch deep-well socket attached to the socket wrench.

Pull the sparkplug away from the motor. Discard the sparkplug.

Screw the sparkplug into the motor by hand. Make sure it is hand-tight.

Tighten the sparkplug with the socket wrench, using the deep-well sparkplug socket.

Click the wire to the sparkplug wire to the end of the sparkplug. Gently pull the wire to ensure it clicks into place.

Repeat the procedure for the remaining five sparkplugs. Change each sparkplug one at a time.
