I have a 04 trailblazer 4.2 v6. It keeps over heating after high rpms. I noticed a coper colored substance floating in my radiator. I have since flushed the radiator but still have the problem.

03 Trailblazer starts and shuts off. White smoke comes out of the muffler when the car starts and now car appears to have a gas leak.

Sounds like a head gasket .Pull out the dip stick look at the oil if you see white foamy stuff you have anti freeze getting your oil you can also take the radiator cap off oil will float to the top
This is common with chevy v6 engines when they over heat it happens .Don't drive it it will wreck the engine in no time at all.

What would cause my radiator fan to run really loud but my escape is not overheating

if it has a viscous fan hub ( fan clutch) then the fan will hook up when the radiator temp reaches around 95 degrees C
this coupling increases the fan speed to close to engine rpms and there will be fan noise as it sucks air through the radiator
it prevents overheating by moving extra air through the radiator when there is insufficient road speed to do the job
it is most noticeable when in slow traffic , sitting at lights or with engine rpms high and under load but not noticeable at highway speeds

I have a 2001 dodge dakota v6. It was heating up so I flushed the cooling system and changed the thermostat but now the heater isn't working and it still heats up when I use the air at low speed. Help!

You have an airpocket in the coolant system. This is very common after repairs and could be difficult to remove. Try filling the radiator while squeezing the upper and/or lower hoses. This will help purge air from the system. I like to force feed the radiator. Start the engine cold, remove rad. cap, have someone increase rpms to about 2k and hold steady while you fill radiator and replace cap. This may take a few tries but will eventually work. Keep at it and please rate me.

Car idols rough and has started over heating had auto zone pull codes and they said it is the fan. needles to say we replaced that and the problem did go away. had a/c relay switch replaces 4 months ago....

a/c relay has to do with a/c compressor. Do you have a/c? If so it's not that. You could have a bad thermostat. Have you replaced one yet? That would cause the over heating. The rough idel I'm not sure what to tell you there. Sorry.

2004 Tahoe Heating Problems

Did you open the radiator cap and make sure the radiator is full of coolant? Sometimes the hose from the coolant reservoir to the radiator becomes plugged, and the radiator will become low on coolant even when the plastic reservoir is full. Low water levels will prevent the coolant system from getting hot water from the engine to the radiator or heater cores. This will cause the engine to run hotter while the heater appears to not be working.
