How can i minimize my fuel consumption of my 4k engine? Thnx more power

A NON USA CAR, where is it what country? (engines and EFI vary by, countries sold to) (2 engines in 2001) near same but....what/?
1.3 L M13A I4 (petrol) with VVT
1.5 L M15A I4 (petrol) with VVT (VVT can fail and lose power too)


well, you did not do the right tests.
not using a scan tool first is #1 cause of going astray, do that first.
Fuel consumption low tell me it, the ECU is in limp mode. and the ECU has lots of DTC errors you are ignoring.
low power has many causes. not just one #10 filter. inside the tank
let me list them to you , in no order, and is ASE class 101 basics, all the way,

1. low fuel pressure, bad filter,bad pump bad FPR fuel pressure regulator. we use a hand tool gage to find that.
2. bad MAF sensor has this, NO ENGINE STATED BY YOU!
3. bad spark if misfiring, ever do a tune up in 60,000 miles.????
4. Bad fuel ,
5. clogged or leaking fuel injectors.
6. bad engine, is compression at spec? (more tools)
7. CAT Melted, (ignoring those DTC error caused this)

that is about it, can go more, but you have no tools to test, so find a shop , to fix this car, as they SURE DO HAVE all tools to do that job right and fast.

This is a very wide encompassing question. It basically revolves around a thorough engine diagnostics and tune up, replacing filters and plugs etc. The quality of all oils will have a small influence on fuel consumption, as will type of tyres and tyre pressures. The most profound influence on fuel consumption is however your driving style and that is a subject too vast to go into here. It boils down to a smooth driving style, judicious use of the transmission (manual or automatic) and driving within the engine torque range whenever possible. Finally high speed requires additional fuel to deliver the power it needs to overcome wind and rolling resistances.

High on mileage means that the engine has done a lot of work, possible that the compression is down, need to check if this is below level, if there is oil used in excess then the engine needs an overhauling subject to the cost estimated.

Cant compromise on bad fuel as this will bring down the power of the engine.
High fule consumption means poor setting so fuel and ignition , check fuel settings- pump calibration and timing.

Yes, but the cost of the supercharger will not pay for itself for most likely however long you own the vicle. In a year you may save 100 dollars and a supercharger is a couple thousand dollars.

You can over-inflate your tires by about 8%, use a K&N air filter, drive 15 kph slower on the highway, accelerate slowly and never accelerate uphill, draft behind larger vehicles, regular maintenance (oil changes, spark plugs, wires, filters), use a fuel system cleaner every oil change. These can increase your fuel economy drastically, but if you are still noticing poor fuel economy you should have the car checked by a mechanic for what might be causing the high fuel consumption.
