Are there any DTC's - diagnostic trouble codes ?in the PCM / BCM ? You have third an fourth below 50 mph but above 50 it down shifts to 2nd gear ,is this what your saying or you don't have 3rd or 4th gears at all ? Which engine did yours come with ? 2.2 L or 4.3 L You trans can set several DTC'S an not all will turn on the check engine light .

Sounds like a bad countershaft bearing. The trans will need removed and disassembled to fix it.

Its a 4.3L, the only codes that are in it are engine codes random multiple misfire and 02 sensor that's it. Yes it shifts great with out slipping until 50mph then I only have first and second gear unless I stop and take off again. I have read,watch and even called the dealer about this issue cause usually when a transmission goes you only have first and reverse and mine I have all the gears working great until 50mph then I only have first and second but if I stop and take off again it will do the same process every time. It has been properly maintained of all fluids on time and do complete flushes yearly. It has 200,000 miles on it
