You'll need to take it to the dealer , because it will need reprograming.

The chip is in the key. Either the key has lost it's program or the transceiver is not recognising the key. Try another key if you have one.

SOURCE: I accidentaly broke my key for my 2000 Ford Explorer, and I changed out the ignition and collumn the car turns over but it wont start. But my anti theft is activated .How do I disable or turn off the an

The old key may have an induction chip in to deactivate the anti theft system. Does it have a red insert (chip) in the key handle? Get the old key and place it as close to the ignition barrel as possible. Seen this done on a number of occasions to save paying for a key reprogram.

Testimonial: "the key had broke off in the hatch of the vehicle. we pulled it out but when they changed out the ignition they broke the reader for the chip on the key so. we took the steering collumn and the ignition from an old 1999 ford exlorer which is the same. But the anti theft is still on"

SOURCE: How do I disable the anti-theft system?

First hooking a battery up backwards can damage computers and the alternator. The battery for your car is opposite of every other battery on the market. Some thing to think about. So with that. Start the car, remove the positive post from the battery. If the car dies, replace the alternator. The security system will not drain a battery every two or three days with the car being driven two or three times a day. Especially a new battery.

Where is the anti theft module located at in a 2005 Kia Sedona? Van won't start and read online a lot of complaints about Kia vehicles is the anti theft module kept the vehicle from starting.

The anti-theft function is part of programing in the ECU. there is no external module. The ignition switch is not reading the key. Do not hang a bunch of trinkets and keys from your key ring. 2 keys at the most. See if the dealer can make you a new key. You may have to replace the ignition switch as well. Perform OBDII scan for anti-theft codes.

How to reset a anti thef system

There is no way to reset the "Anti-Theft" system. Hopefully you have more than one ignition key. Slide one key into the ignition cylinder and try to start the engine. If nothing, try the same thing with the other key. There is a transponder inside each key and the exciter ring will send a signal to the key. If the signal that it receives is not valid, then the Anti-Theft system will tell the ECU not to allow the car to be started. What is the security light doing while you try to start the engine? Did this problem happen out of the blue? Was a repair performed on the ignition switch? Are there any other symptoms? Please write back and let me know, good luck.

Starting problem

You can not by-pass, disarm, or eliminate the "Anti-theft module. Its called "HALO" and it is located at the ignition key cylinder. The plastic ring (part or anti-theft module) wraps around the key cylinder. If the key cylinder receives an impact and breaks the ring, it will not allow the vehicle to be started. Also if the module breaks or wears out, it will need to be replaced. Diagnostics will be needed to repair. If you are looking for the exact repair procedure, please write back and let me know. Good luck. P.S. if you are not familiar with Air-bags, you should just take the car to Ford. They only sell the parts and it will cost you less to go there.

2002 mercury villager anti theft system horn will not stop van will not start

The remote needs to work if the vehicle originally came with the remote from the factory. It gives off a signal to the ring around the ignition switch to deactivate the alarm.

I would like to disarm anti-theft system

On my 1998 Exlorer Sport there is a set of 5 wires in a yellow sheath running from the ignition module to a brown connection point/harness in a very uncomfortable position directly under the steering column above the pedals.

I unplugged the connection at this point. This stopped the key-in-ignition chiming (part of the anti-theft feature) but I still get the chime alerts for headlights left on, initial chime when the key is turned. The pinging, or ringing chime comes from the multifunction computer located under the dash behind the radio.

Hope this help.
