Firing order for the 2.8 and 3.1 engines is 1 2 3 4 5 6. if you got plugs wires out of place left from right of coil pack..this is where your wires will go from coil pack to plugs.1 4 6 3 2 5 . now looking at your engine.rear cylinders left from right is 1 3 5 your front cylinder left to right is 2 4 6 now firing order for 2.0 - 2.2L - 2.3 engines is 1 3 4 2 . looking at 2.3 engine left to right cylinders is 1 2 3 4 .now the 2.0 2.2L engine cylinders left to right is 4 3 2 1.if you got coil wires mixed up.looking at coil pack facing you first would be 1 4 3 2 .this is the cylinders wires will go.

What is the firing sequence on 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 multi-port motor

The firing order on all 60 degree V6 engines is 1-2-3-4-5-6. In 1990 GM stroked the 2.8 L engine from to 3.1 L. It's based on the 2.8 L V-6 engine found in 80's cars like the Camaro and Beretta.

Car won't fire. I change the ignition coil and crank sensor.

I had a Beretta a while ago. I think it was an 89 or 90. It had a 3.1 engine. I don't know if the 2.8 used the same system, but at least one of the coil packs went bad and the car wouldn't start. It was running fine when I shut it off to go apply for a job and wouldn't start when I came back out. You could try looking at that.
