I have a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville Se. Lately, the transmission has been really jerky as it shifts. does it most when it gets hot, didnt know if its the whole tranny or torque converter, fluid is still in good color, hoping its not the whole transmission, should i have a flush and fill done, and put some tranny treatment in, or just consider a whole new tranny?

1997 pontiac bonneville transmission

Yes, Brion, all 1997 pontiac bonneville cars that left the factory to be sold at a new car dealer had a transmission.
That is not to say that all 1997 pontiac bonnevilles had a transmission, but probably 99 % of them did.
New pontiac engines of that year may very well have been used in an assortment of applications, without a transmission.
I hope this helps you.

2000 pintiac bonneveille

Im not a transmission expert, but you can visit GrandPrixForums.net and sign up there. A member on those forums that goes by Trannyman95 is a rebuilder of the 4T65E transmission that your car has and should be able to shed some light on what is going on. He is a super nice guy.
