Cambelt peugeot hi was wondering when is best to renew cambelt on my vechicle

1. In harsh weather conditions 80000 Miles or 6 years.
Recommended: 70000 Miles or 4 years (whichever comes first)

2. In normal weather conditions 120000 Miles or 9 years

i believe it to be 50,000 miles or five years....if your not sure change it its cheaper than an engine repair!!

Do you have a distributer cap on this car? or coilpack
If it is the distributer try and advance it slightly just move the distributer round slightly, it should have a screw loosen it off and move slightly until the timing sounds right, I kow you wanted timing info, but if the belt has only moved slightly then you just need to move this. Worth a try for the time being, I had a 309gti goodwood had the same issue.

Do you have a distributer cap on this car? or coilpack
If it is the distributer try and advance it slightly just move the distributer round slightly, it should have a screw loosen it off and move slightly until the timing sounds right, I kow you wanted timing info, but if the belt has only moved slightly then you just need to move this. Cambelt and alternator belt

I don't know exactly the engine code but may be this 205 documents can help you.
The alternator belt or ancillary belt need to be removed before you can proceed to cambelt.

Hi ,I think you mean the Inlet metering valve Or IMV this is locted in the back of the high pressure fuel pump which is driven by the cambelt,the IMV controls the amount of fuel pressure from the pump to the fuel rail,You haven`t said what the problem is with the car ????,is it just a simple non start or rough running and lack of power,?let me know

I need advice on a cambelt change on my peugeot 406 1.8 twincam

easy to do ,dont be scared and make sure you remove oil seal in tensioner and put in a drop of oil and some fresh grease refit cover before refitting
