Engine light My engine light came on...what could be the problems that associate with that? Car make is a toyota corolla 2005

Hi. You must drive into an AAMCO repair shop where they will scan your car computer for free and tell you why that light is on. The two problems may or may not be related.

If you do not have an AAMCO, call local auto parts stores as some scan for free and some do not. J.

Your husband is right, it is a sensor problem, and resetting the light will not make the problem go away, you need to have computer diag. done before some thing that was a small job turns in to some thing major, have it check as some as possible.

you may have to disconnect the battery for a minute or so ,this will reset the alarm. check your remote it does have a battery in it. otherwise you have to look for a fuse somewhere under the dash close to the fuse box.each one is diff. depending if it original toyota or aftermarket alarm.

This light comes on to rermind you to service the car ( oil,filters ect ) you can turn this off when you start the car by making sure the odometer is showing ( not the trip meters A or B ) and hold in the reset button for the trip meters and turning the ignition switch all the way forward. When this is done the odometer will start to show dashes and when the dashes are gone the light will be reset.
