Yes or the run relay. Hold the palm of your hand over them all. You'll feel it tick when you turn the key to start. Swap it out $15 or less

How do you check the fuel pump at the relay on a olds achieva 3.100 6cyl.

What is model year? Does the relay have diagram on it? The load side of relay usually shows as open switch, that should be load side of relay, use jumper wire between those two terminals on the load side, with relay unplugged. That should send voltage to pump. One of those terminals should be hot all the time. This is just for testing not driving. Even if fuel pump runs, that doesn't mean it will start?

Did you use a gage and check proper fuel pressure?

98 olds achieva wont start or come outta park either

As with any no-start issue, you will need to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem to proceed.
The brake switch problem with the shifter could be a fuse.
No start could be a relay, fuse, fuel pump, coil, or a long list of other things.
Did you check the computer for trouble codes ?

Where is the fuel pump relay on a 95 olds achieva 4 cyl

Hello tcb476: My name is Roger and i will answer your question. The fuel pump relay on your Oldsmobile Achieva is located under the hood. Open the hood and look at the left strut tower. You should find a relay block attached to the tower..There should be 4 relays. Three of them will be in a row. The center relay should be your fuel pump relay. Please rate the answer you received as this is how we know you received the correct information. Should you need further help please just ask. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

My 96 Oldsmobile decided not to stay running anymore,

Check the Fuel Filter and Fuel Pump. Also Check under the Hood and Look for a Fuse Relay Box. Inside this Box there should be a Relay for the Starter and Fuel Pump and Crank, Also after Replacing these Take a Flashlight and Check ALL the Fuses Really good in the Box under the Hood and the one Under the Dash on the Inside.. Replace these and let me Know how it goes.

1987 4.3L starting difficulty

First off, I'm a great believer in the simple solution. If jumping the relay works, then replace the relay.

As far as a relationship between fuel pump operation and oil pressure, coincidence of operation.

If the new relay fails you, I'll need some more info:
  • Fuel Injected? If you turn the key on (not to start) do you hear the fuel pump come on for a sec then shut off?
  • Hard to start when hot, cold, doesn't matter
  • When it does start, does it idle ok? erratically? High? Won't stay running? Dies immediately?
  • Does it blow smoke? Black? Blue? White?
  • When driving, does it lack power? Stumble? Stall?
Hope it's the relay

Mike
