SOURCE: bleeding top hydrulic system after replacing locking servo

Hi redbarro7,
Your vehicle may be fitted with a reverse bleeding system....have a look at the master cylinder and see if there's a bleeding nipple fitted there....If there is, you'll need to use a pressurized tool to bleed the system. You can make up one from an old master cylinder, if you're really into doing it your self....Pump out the air in the usual way......Leave an interval between each pump stroke, to allow the air to escape.

All the best

SOURCE: bleeding air out of fuel inj pump

loosen the fuel fitting on the fuel filter housing.
loosen the actuating button on manual pump. operate pump until fuel flows from the filter fitting free of air.
tighten fitting
continue operating the pump untill injection pump overflow valve opens up. This is known by an audible buzzing noize when the valve opens up.
tighten the pump acuator button.
Start and run the engine. check for leaks.
Hope this the info you are looking for

SOURCE: after bleeding system initially because

If you are absolutely sure that the brake elements are the correct one for the van and are in perfect working order(including the servo), you are using the recommended DOT4 fluid and the system has been thoroughly bled and the height of the pedal is set at the recommended height then this is how it's supposed to feel.
If you don't like that then your only option is to modify the brake pedal itself - cut the pad and weld it up higher on the arm.

How do I bleed a Honda prelude fuel system. 1999 model,5th generation. Thankyou. E.Whelan.

The system is self bleeding, no bleed port is needed. You can use the fuel pressure test port to bleed it if you want, but just holding the gas pedal to the floor while you crank the engine will bleed the air out very quickly..

My 1999 Windstar ran out of gas and won't start. I changed fuses # 5, and 207; checked fuel injector, engaged. Put in 2 gallons gas. Need more gas?

If it ran out of gas you probably have an air lock in the system. You need to bleed the fuel lines to get rid of any air. You also may have picked up some sludge that had settled in bottom of the tank. Clean the fuel filter first and bleed any air out at the same time.

FUEL INJECTION PUMP BLEEDING
(1) If the fuel injection pump has been replaced,
air should be bled at the overflow valve before
attempting to start engine.
(a) Loosen the overflow valve (Fig. 18) at the
rear of the injection pump.
(b) Place a towel below the valve.
WARNING: WHEN CRANKING THE ENGINE TO
BLEED AIR FROM THE INJECTION PUMP, THE
ENGINE MAY START. PLACE THE TRANSMISSION
IN NEUTRAL OR PARK AND SET PARKING BRAKE
BEFORE ENGAGING THE STARTER MOTOR.
CAUTION: Do not engage the starter motor for
more than 30 seconds at a time. Allow 2 minutes
between cranking intervals.
(2) Crank the engine for 30 seconds at a time to
allow air trapped in the injection pump to vent out
the fuel injector drain tubes. Continue this procedure
until the engine starts. Observe the previous WARNING
and CAUTION.
(3) Tighten overflow valve.
HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL LINE BLEEDING
WARNING: THE INJECTION PUMP SUPPLIES HIGH-
-PRESSURE FUEL OF APPROXIMATELY 45,000 KPA
(6,526 PSI) TO EACH INDIVIDUAL INJECTOR
THROUGH THE HIGH-PRESSURE LINES. FUEL
UNDER THIS AMOUNT OF PRESSURE CAN PENETRATE
THE SKIN AND CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY.
WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES AND ADEQUATE PROTECTIVE
CLOTHING AND AVOID CONTACT WITH
FUEL SPRAY WHEN BLEEDING HIGH-PRESSURE
FUEL LINES.
WARNING: DO NOT BLEED AIR FROM THE FUEL
SYSTEM OF A HOT ENGINE. DO NOT ALLOW FUEL
TO SPRAY ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHEN
BLEEDING AIR FROM THE FUEL SYSTEM.
Bleed air from one injector at time.
(1) Loosen the high-pressure fuel line fitting at
the injector (Fig. 19).
(2) Crank the engine until all air has been bled
from the line. Do not operate the starter motor
for longer than 30 seconds. Wait 2 minutes
between cranking intervals.
(3) Start the engine and bleed one injector at a
time until the engine runs smoothly.

How to bleed new fuel pump 2002 hyuandai sante fe

If it is a gas engine, you normally would not have to bleed anything. The air escapes thru the injectors.

I have a 1985 ford f250 diesel. It ran out of fuel and now I cannot start it. How can I get it started after running out of fuel

You have to bleed the AIR from the fuel system. there is a valve stem on the side of the fuel filter housing.crank engine a few turns then bleed the air. its easier with two people(1cranking engine while one bleeds the air).may have to do several times.

After running out of gas, after adding gas the car wont start. how do i bleed the fuel pump?

there is no bleeding proceedure required. with fuel in the tank when the pump starts running it creates pressure in the system and when you crank the engine the injectors purge the air in the system out. you may have burned up the fuel pump.

How do I bleed the fuel lines to the engine?

You should not need to bleed the fuel lines to the engine, unless you got something in the gas that has contaminated it. In that case I would drop the fuel tank, unhook the fuel lines in the engine bay and blow them out with an air hose. Air in the lines will not hurt a thing, just put the gas in it and crank it up, it may stall a few times, just restart it and the air will purge itself. Depending on what is in the fuel, diesel for instance, will burn out just drain the tank and top it up with good gas, after running out that tank of fuel change the fuel filter.

Priming fuel system on a 8.1L diesel engine 2001chev 1 ton dual

Well, one problem is, if its an 8.1, its not a diesel. The 8.1, or Vortec 8100, is a gas engine. The DuraMax is a 6.6 engine. There is usually not a priming system on a gas engine, because the fuel pumps will usually get it through the smaller filters used quick enough you dont need them. However, if it is a DuraMax engine, then right on top of the fitting where you mount your diesel filter, there is a primer pump and an air bleed valve. What you do is, open up that air bleed valve ( its a little black plastic octagon shaped thing on the top of the filter mount) then you pump the primer (the silver button looking thing) until you get diesel squiting out the air vent without too many air bubbles or gurgles.

Fuel system

No, it will bleed it self after a few seconds of crank time, verify you have fuel pressure, there is a shradder valve in the line going to the fuel injectors( known as the fuel manifold), depress it while someone cranks the engine and see if fuel comes out, is there gas in you tank? guages can be wrong, seen it a hundred times, car towed in, $100 later it turns out the guage is wrong and the car ran out of gas.
