SOURCE: volvo s60 abs systems

it is most likely that the abs module is faulty,, if the fault codes are read and it shows a fault with the right rear sensor then the module is faulty,,they usually go wrong at about 110//140k

SOURCE: volvo s60 idle sensor

if you could get your hands on a scanner to read some live data it would help your plight, there is a cam position sensor when you take of the the plastic head cover at the timing belt end,did you check plugs,it also might help to clean the maf with some contact spray, sounds like plugs

SOURCE: Volvo S60 Hesitation

Had a similar problem recently where I would press the accelerator almost to the floor before I got a response and when I ran the A/C it was worse. Also my car kept stalling out when at idle. Volvo dealerships are extremely expensive. I took mine to a Bosch service center (more of a mom & pop shop) and the price was more reasonable. The drivability (sp?) problem was the rear oxygen sensor for me. I also had a fuel pressure sensor and MAP (labeled as pressure sensor from Volvo) sensor replaced. The parts are expensive, but it fixed my issue. There is a front and rear oxygen sensor so it could be either. The parts are $219 each. The fuel pressure and MAP sensor are cheaper, but only by about $40. They are not hard to replace though. Once I had the rear oxygen sensor replaced the car was back to normal. I have a 2003 S60 with 97K miles.

SOURCE: Volvo S60 sensor ?

Sounds like an oxygen sensor (there are two). I had a recent problem where I had a rough idle and my S60 continued to stall out. Turned out to be the rear oxygen sensor. After replacement, car idles nicely and car drives normally.

I have the exact same problem.

check the relay for the fan. it's most likely located in the engine compartment fuse box, which on north american vehicles is usually near the battery. volvo's may be located on the fire wall passenger side. it's likely the relay is sticking on.
