2004 VW Touareg would not start the other day. The problem lasted for about 45 mins. When attempting to start, it would turn over but not start. After approximately 45 mins, it started with no problem.
Today, while waiting at a stop-light, the truck cut off. It did the same thing. I called AAA, and the tow truck was there in about 45 mins. When he got there, the truck started right up, though I had it towed anyway. When we got to my home, he took it off the flatbed and tried it again..started with no problem. I've not gotten any faults or service codes, and the truck has about 63k miles on it.
Why add the words SOLVED in the search results when the answer doesn't actually solve the issue. That is false advertising for monetary gain.
I had/have the exact same problem with my 2004 Treg. I took it to the dealer in April and they told me it was the fuel pump and replace them. Everything was fine until the other day when it happened again. I took it to a local mechanic who told me it was the crankshaft sensor. If it happens again I'm selling the car for scrap!
