Bought window regulator for 2000 Olds Alero but plastic clip that is attached to bracket and glues to window is broken . So can't connect regulator to clip . Can clip be replaced ? How can old clip that's glued be removed
Re: Bought window regulator for 2000 Olds Alero but...
Replacement clips are available through specialty auto parts stores...there are many tricks or solvents that will loosen the glue on the broken clip...if you damage the glass, you can find a popular window replacement, inspect the clip too, at your nearby salvage yard or online...Hope this helps.

I do not expect you can get it from your dealer. They will probably seel it included with a complete assembly.
So should do scrap yard unless they have a bad assembly mounted on an accidented car and allow you to get the needed piece/part removed by yourself (if they are open to)
Good luck

There is 2 sash clips that need glued to the new window. Note the placement of the clips on the broken window. Get a goods glue from a local glass replacement company
any good parts store will be able to order these parts. Gm has to make these parts for 15 years. but the auto parts stores can get them through Dorman, and save you a ton!
don't know why but the glue gets weak where the plastic pieces attach to the bottom of the window.i've had to fix mine more than once.remove the door panel, then take the nuts lose from the back of the plastic retainers,then-going by the residue left from the old glue mark where the retainers go back-re glue, realine and reinstall.panel removal-philips screw holding the door handle,1 philips screw holding armrest/window controls, two philips screws at front of panel above speaker, then gently pry clips behind the edges of the panel.if the plastic window retainers are beyond repair,i think they have them in the help section of advance/autozone.
The window regulator is what causes the plastic clip to break. I had the same problem. I was able to find a new clip at advanve auto parts, and had to purchase a regulator which includes the motor from ebay. There were many diffrent options out there. Total cost was about $60.
