Pull the bulb back out and look in the plug. They get corroded and the tabs will spread apart and/ or break off. Bend them back if they are there, replace it , if not.. If it looks good, you need to use an ohm meter and check continuity of the tabs to the wire. They usually break close to the plugs.
Those seal has to be put in properly, it has zero Tolerance if not put in correctly. Removing an old seal you must have to be very careful by not scratching the inner surface where the seal seat in. most people try to removed it with screw driver and scratch (damage) the inner surface where the seal seat will cause it not to seal. Removing the seal is easier than putting a new one in. Putting new seal, 99% of the time if individual never done it before, they tend to bang the new seal in using hammer. this will do nothing but damage the new seal causing it to leak. You have to tap using rubber hammer lightly to put the seal back in, if you find that you have to bang hard to get the seal back in, the chances are you will damage the new seal. The other alternative is to use a torches to heat the outer area of the seal by using heat to expand the outer area and then lightly tap the new seal in. Banging/ forcing the new seal using hammers will damage it. If you have a mechanic did the job, then you need to take it back and have him redo the work at his expense. Good Luck!!
Probably a bad starter or battery. Is battery old? Any corrosion?
Tap on the starter - then try and start the car. To find the starter follow the big cable from the positive/red terminal on your battery to the starter.
Two ways...#1, naturally the key. the second way this, the 1991 Maxima has a lever on the left side of the drivers side seat at floor level. Simply pull up on the lever and it should pop your trunk. Goood Luck! I hope you find this very helpful!
