I purchased this Plow on Nov.5, 2009. Since then the plow harniss is responsible for blowing out the passanger side headlight on my F150 Ford Platinum. This happens every winter season. When the Ford mechanic uncouples the plow harness for the summer months, the light is fine but when the harness is hooked up for the winter the light blows. I took the plow to the dealer when it was still under warranty, but he says they couldn't find anything wrong and it is not Myers fault. If so, how come it only blows the headlight when the harness is hooked up? Meanwhile I keep getting dinged $75.00 to get the head light working again every summer? I am just getting the run around. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The Ford dealer, being aware of this problem won't take my truck and plow as a trade on another vehicle. They will take the truck without the plow. Where does this leave me??

The reason the fuse blows/melts is because there is excessive draw. The other alternator could be wired wrong. Check to make sure the wires are correct gauge.

There is a ground that is deteriorated in the harness. trace the ground lead back from the connection to your truck. Once you find the break, that should take care of your problem.
It is also possible to be a power lead, so check them also, but more often than not it is a ground.l
Hope this helps.
