Its inside the transmission. you need to pull the pan off trans to get to it. check the wire connection on the trans for corrosion first

SOURCE: reverse lights wont work

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced

Yes. You can get the MOT station to do the repair or you can try and solve the problem. Check your fuses, the earth connections, your wiring and the voltage at the bulb. It could also be a faulty switch. I hope some of that will help.

Not sure what transmssion you have but basically it goes from fuse on P/O wire to either the MLP switch on automatic or just a backup lamp switch on manual and leaves the switch on BK/PK wire to the bulbs. Should be easy to trace with a 12v test light.

Hello! Back-up lights are controlled by a relay. Under hood is the "Power Distribution Box"; Open hinged lid and locate back-up lights relay. Remove and replace. You may notice that relay is melted; They are well known for this.

You can purchase a Haynes repair manual at most auto part stores for around $15

The bulb holders are the smaller, usually white, twist locks directly above the large black headlight cover. It's tucked under the cross bar the bonnet catch bolts to. If there is no bulbs in there you will need the orange coated ones. If none of the indicators work check the fuses and the relay as well. Reverse lights don't work.

The switch for the backup lamps is located on the left side of the transmission changing it will probably solve your problems.
