You can add it to the radiator ( if the engine is cold) or look at the top of the radiator for a small hose...follow it to a plastic tank...check the cap on the top if the tank...it should say "engine coolant fill" or something to that effect...remove cap , and fill to the line....2 lines...marked hot or cold..depending on if the engine is at normal operating tempature...DO NOT OPEN THE RADIATOR CAP IF THE ENGINGE HAS BEEN RUNNING.. you can get burned really badly

How do i replace the water pump of a 1997 toyota celica 1.8?

You will have to loosen the idler wheel. That is where the tension is set for your belt. No need to remove the belt. You will have to take off the hoses to the pump and catch the anti freeze/water in a bucket. There will probably be 3 bolts, maybe four. Take them out, pull the pump and replace. Make sure when you put the new one on that it comes with a new gasket. Tighten evenly or you will have leaks and you can't just keep tightening too far. You will crush the gasket and have to get a new one and start over. This is not a tighten as hard as you can get it device.

Remove raditor

The radiator would be aged or weak. Never drive the car without original anti freeze coolant. Check the radiator, radiator cap for both functions (compression and vacuum springs from under the radiator cap). Carefully examine the radiator and heater hoses and their clamps. Also carefully examine the cylinder block water lids on both sides for any corrosion. Finally pressure test the coolant system.

How to install engnie freeze plug 90 toyota celica st

Hi, are you talking about anti freeze, if so it goes in the engine coolant in the radiator, check the manufacturers specifications for the correct ratio of anti freeze to water for your climate, which I assume changes from season to season. In winter you may have to use 100% anti freeze for the coldest times of the year.

I have a celica st205 and when its running the coolant pipes become under compression

If they're ballooning then your water pump is bad, but if they are shrinking like they're under vacuum, something is clogged. Pull the radiator hoses off after draining your anti freeze and run a hose to the top inlet. If water comes back out the inlet and has a poor flow it's clogged. The water should be capable of flowing right through.

We are changing the water pump need to refill the system

If you are asking if you will need to drain the fluid then yes you will have to drain at least half of the anti freeze before removing the water pump. I would recomend buying an extra gallon before you start because if you are needing a new water pump the chances are that you have lost some fluid already. but you can reuse the fluid that you drain just make shure that you use a clean container to catch the fluid. Another note is when buying you anti freeze check what color anti freeze you have. You never want to mix green with orange.

1993 Toyota Celica Anti-freeze

A 50/50 mix will get you enough protection for all but probably the most extreme climates. You can go into just about any place that sells anti-freeze and get it already pre-mixed 50/50. Its actually better to do it that way because its precisely mixed and used pure water for the mix rather than tap water.
