Rattling noise during engine start up.. 2005 mitz galant 2.4l

Whenever i start my car in the morning, i hear small rattling noise in the engine... it sounds like static noise... maybe from a spark plug or something...i know its not the valves needing adjustments... however, after 5 or so minutes, the noise goes away...

Probably a heat shield. Often time the screws that hold the shields in place rust away causing the shield to rattle. After the exhaust heats up, the pipes and shield expand causing the shield to stop rattling until it cools down again later when the car has been sitting for a while. Usually you'll find shields under or around the catalytic converter and around the exhaust pipe nearest to the engine. Most folks would probably recommend you remove the shield and be done with it. That's your call. Just remember though, the shields are there for a reason. In particular, the shield under the catalytic converter is there to prevent the possibility of starting tall grass on fire in the event you had to pull off the road for example to fix a flat tire or something along those lines. It might be unlikely, but its definitely been known to happen. Let us know how it goes. Thanks.

You probably have a bad plug wire or cracked cap/roter , this can be seen at night in full darkness to pinpoint it. or you can buy a mechanics stethoscope (about 15.00 or less) and listen for it.

Very loud noise from under the hood very loud and rattling that only goes on during the day and when its on.

Could be many things, hard to say without hearing it. It's very hard to remotely diagnose a noise problem we cant hear.

Car wont start

it happens because too low voltage, ecu is not working properly if the voltage is running too low, just load little bit your battery(about 1 hour) and then your car should start, same happened to me

Rattling noise during start up. I turn the key and there is a loud rattle noise when the car first fires up. When the car fires up it sounds like I have my foot on the accelerator as it revs up at first...

check your starter and see if it is loose, this will cause it (starter) to use more amperage to start which leaves less amperage for the rest of the electrical system (maybe the long start problem too), hope this helps, let me know

Noise when accellorating

Do you have the 2.4L four cylinder I bet?

Look underneath the vehicle at the exhaust pipe where it passes under the oil pan. The heatshield on this pipe is known to rust off and rattle. So much so that there is a bulletin to remove the shield (two 10mm bolts and one clamp) and throw it away! 2008+ models no longer have the shield, as it is unneeded and problematic.
