I try to start my 1992 lexus sc 400 and it starts when it wants most of the time it clicks. what is the cause of this and how do i fix it? i was thinking about replacing the starter but i have no clue where it is located, where is it located? and what all has to be removed to change it?

It sounds like either the starter/starter solenoid, or a battery cable problem (loose cable or solenoid control cable).
As for where it's located, have someone try to start the engine while you listen while you listen for where the starter or clicking noise is coming from. You can also follow the + cable to the remote mounted or starter mounted solenoid (the battery ground will also head to the engine area as well, but it will attach to the casting of the engine or chassis, not the starter.).
