it may be your alternator that is draining your battery and causing problems. I have replaced my alternator two years in a row on my 2003 Corolla...also having other electrical problems with the radio and cd player. I have been reading where this is a common problem :(
50 degrees and it's just sitting there or is it riding down the road? sounds like the battery is going down and as it goes below a certain voltage the alarm goes off. Show up at a parts store and have them test the battry and for a battery drain( draw09 a darw on the battery as the car is shut off. This may find the reason for the alarm going off.
I know this is old, but the answers are much more complicated than the actual solution. WebRepOverall ratingThis site has no rating(not enough votes)
If you look at the indicator you can see a hole where there is a screw. grab a philip's head screw driver and remove that screw. pull it out and you will see the light is attached to a wire, wiggle the black piece attached to that wire out of the light. (don't pull the wires) now you have the bulb. push it down and twist and it will pop out. put in a new bulb (push in and twist) pop that baby back into your car. shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to do.
You have to remove the headlight assembly mounting screws and remove the
headlight assembly. Remove the power cable by squeezing the lock clip
to release the cable, then release the bulb from the headlight assembly.
Reverse process for the new bulb.
Open the hood to gain access to the rear of the head light. simply unplug the light bulb, then twist then pull the bulb to remove. Do not touch the glass portion of the new bulb, the oils in your skin may cause the bulb to burn out quickly. reverse to install
you may have to disconnect the battery for a minute or so ,this will reset the alarm. check your remote it does have a battery in it. otherwise you have to look for a fuse somewhere under the dash close to the fuse box.each one is diff. depending if it original toyota or aftermarket alarm.
make sure battery cables are secure on or into the battery and not loose. If cables are loose it will cause your alternater to fail therfore not fully keeping battery charged. If battery cables are not loose replace battery.
Open the hood. Observe the area above the right headlamp, close to the fender. You will see a phillips screw that holds a plastic tab. Remove the phillips screw. After removing the screw, pull the marker lamp assembly towards you. It may be real tight, if it has never been removed before. You need to pull the light assembly out of 2 retention sockets behind the marker lamp. Rotate the bulb socket to get to the bulb, replace the bulb, & slide it back in.Easy job.
