Renault Laguna 2.2 diesel cutting out and difficulty starting

I have a 2002 Laguna 2.2DCi Initial.

It started having cutting out issues just after acceleration, total engine cut out, no spluttering. It would start again straight away and run fine until accelrating again then cut out.
Now it also refuses to start. It will start with the aid of some easy start.
The OBD showed fuel pressure in rail problem but when pipes are cracked open the fuel fires out.
Strange thing though, after it has cut out and restarts, the PAS seems heavier than normal for quite a while, some 30 miles or so.
New filters fitted, glo plugs work, no contamination in fuel, no leaks. HELP !
It has done 127000 miles and has a full history showing a new pump at 60000 miles. I have been doing 3500 miles a month in it for the last 6 months.
When running, it's perfect if a little rough at tick over.
Anyone got any ideas please ? Hi, I have more or less the same problem. Its a 2003 1.9dci and the car will not start, I have placed a external electric inline fuel pump with its own supply direct to the injection pump cp3 and it still does not go.There is not live feed to the fuel pump in the tank either.
Any ideas please, Pat

SOURCE: Renault Laguna 2.2 diesel cutting out and difficulty starting

If the ecu is under the battery tray(plastic unboltable), remove the tray and check for contamination around the plugs. commonish fault with the 1.9

Won't start and light flashing saying it's in neutral when it's in park?

If your 2002 Renault Laguna won't start and the gear indicator light is flashing, it's likely that there is an issue with the neutral safety switch. This switch is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle can only be started in Park or Neutral, and if it's malfunctioning, it may prevent the engine from starting.
You can try shifting the gear lever between Park and Neutral a few times to see if that resolves the issue. If not, you may need to have the neutral safety switch inspected or replaced by a qualified mechanic. Other potential causes of a no-start condition include a dead battery, a faulty starter motor, or a clogged fuel filter.

Renault Laguna dci fuel cut off

The fuel cut off switch activates during a hard crash and on my Laguna it is located under the bonnet and is bolted to the passenger side suspension strut mounting near the top, hope this helps.

Where is diesel cut off switch located on laguna 1.8

what makes you think there is one.

the FSM (factory service manual) covers this , 100%

buy one new or used.

check fuses first.

why does wiki say there is no Generation II Laguna with 1.8L diesel.

but shows, x6 , 1.9L

all are F9Q-xxx engines. 1,870 cc

so what matters is exactly which of the 6 F9s you have.

all have Direct injection, and works more like gas car than diesel.

but says>

The diesel-fuel is delivered either by a mechanical injection pump or a common rail fuel injection installation.

my guess is common rail.

is it>?

the first job is to check all fuses.

the make sure filters are clean (done)

then make sure the glow plugs all work.

if all that works, then using the proper scan tool see if the PCM

is throwing DTC codes (say for crank or cam sensors)

crank for 5 second scanning. got DTC errors?

if that is ok, fuel pump pressure is key next step.

the next step are the injectors actually firing electrically.

how is that.?

Laguna Gearbox issue ??

I would say that you should go back to the shop and tell them whats going on. They didnt fix the problem properly in the first place and that is bad business. Look for another shop and see what they say.

Renault laguna sports tourer 1.9 dci wont start

Try the relays under the bonnet fuse box 4 small black ones in a line, the first 2 from top cut of the fuel pump, and are a renowned cause of 85% of cranking without starting faults on the dci engine swap them over for the bottom 2 .
If it starts, buy 2 from Renault and fit
if the engine still fails to start the egr valve may be stuck closed starving the engine of air, its on the top of the engine at the air intake and has 3 bolts, remove it and clean it with carb cleaner then check its condition, if it appears ok, replace the cleaned one, if not you need a new one or the turbo will blow its seals and the engine will rev and burn on the engines own oil.
beyond this and your diy fixes are at an end without a obd2 code reader.

Renault Laguna 2.2 diesel cutting out and difficulty starting

for this heap of doogy doo their is only one solution without spending lots of cash and that is apart from burning it ,is to fit a in-line fuel pump with a relay these cars a renouwn for playing up like this .dealer sees you coming and yes you will lay the golden egg ...regardless trust me.fit a in-line pump in the fuel line to maintain pressure if this doesnt work then its not the fuel /injector pump as they will have you beleave and charge accordingly to remove and send to diesel overhaul shop or just fit a new one but it will be the ECU management system which is over a thousand euros and you cant fit it yourself as it has to be programmed and its encrypted software dealer only.Dealer wont tell you this untill they have changed everything eles at a cost of up too 1000 euros then say its a specialist renault problem and the car is then moved to another garage for a second opinion then the renault rep has to look then the answer is the ECU ,trust me on this one been their and have the teashirt for a customer and yes its a true story.

Renault

Don't know which Laguna you have but normally there is a reset button on the dash. switch the ignition on , don't start and twist the black button firmly either left or right and wait for the result.
