1999 Buick Regal Tail lights, how to get to them.

My blinker on my tail lights of my buick regal 1999, have quit blinking. I have not figured out how to get to these lights for replacement or repair. Auto Zone person told me to go throught trunk and unscrew the four bolts in corner of trunk. There is no way that unscrewing these bolts will get me to the lights. I tried to get plastic tail light cover, on outside of rear, to come off, but it didn't seem to want to come off and I didn't want to break it. How do you get to the tail lights of this car?

Hello;
On the Buick, your tail light lens are smooth with no screws accessable from the outside. So, open the trunk and you will see either cardboard or carpeted panels surroounding the trunk. Pull these away and you will see some plastic wingnuts (3-4 each side). Remove the wingnuts, and then pull the light towards the rear from the outside. Your wires and sockets will thrn be accessible. Usually depress the lock and give the socket a 1/4 turn and pull out. Replace the bulb, reinstall in the reverse order.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks;
Rich

How do I fix the brake light on a 1997 Buick LeSaber.

I just did a 97 Regal yesterday and yes you are correct...the strip must be removed to gain access...depending on model you may have to remove the cushioning panel (piece of upholstery panel) on the inside of trunk lid...follow this video URL as it explains the removal better in video form than written..basically remove the 7 10mm nuts holding panel on, lower trunk lid a little and wiggle panel off, twist socket and remove to gain bulb access..install is reverse procedure ...Regal, Century and LeSabre are all same idea/setup Tail Light Change 1997 2005 Buick Century 2004 Buick Century Custom 3 1L V6

The break light are not working exept for the one in the rear window. if i turn the blinkers on the break light will then work

I would say you have a short in the wiring. Make sure nothing in your truck has come in conact with the wiring. Check the wiring in the truck connected to all the tail and BRAKE lights.
