You'll have to figure out if you are lacking fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed.

Either you may be using a key that you had copied from the original or your chip went bad in your original key. Most of cars now a days have the key censor in the key so if it is the incorrect key it will not start your car or if it does not read that chip it will not start

It could be bad plugs, plug wires, a bad ground will do this as well. Check to see if it has the three main things.

Spark
Air
Fuel

Anther common problem is the crank shaft speed sensor. It will cause it to not spark and not start.

SOURCE: I need a replacement keys for 2001 ford taurus

A good place to start is a ford dealer. Often they can cut you a key off the VIN number. You will have to go there in person., and some kind of proof of ownership would be needed!

2001 ford taurus wont start

I see that you replaced battery, coil, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Did you or do you have a check engine light or SES light on? If you did not I agree with the problem being Anti theft which includes a replacement key not having a transponder chip. BUT at the same time it could be something as simple as dirty battery post or bad battery cables, since sometimes it does start. I RECOMMEND CHECKING THE BATTERY CABLES FIRST. let me know if this works for you.

My 2001 ford taurus wont start. after i just replaced the battery. the anti theft lights blinking. theres power to the car but it wont start.

your anti theft is more than likely doing it is their a key pad where you enter a code? If so you need to enter the code that was hard wired to it when you have a bad battery or change the battery the system defalts to the hard wired code, if you don't know the code it should be on a sticker in the trunk I think it is on the hindge to the trunk lid right side!

My 2003 ford taurus won't start and the theft light is on and the trunk will not open? Whats the problem?

I have a similar problem, intermitently the car will not crank. The dome light stays on which eliminates the battery. The clock on the radio turns off when I try to start it. Th Theft light is solid red the first time I try to start it, then latter after a few tries the red light is off, but it still wont start. I tried moving the shifter when in park, I even tried starting it in neutral. After a while it starts and once started it runs fine. I will have to take it to Ford next week. We just do not want to drive it, it is too unreliable. It is a 2000 Ford Taurus.

Fuel pump is located inside your fuel tank.Sometimes if you have involved in an accident there is automatic shut off switch that will kill the fuel pump operations and prevent fire durring accident.Chek your manual for fuel pump shut off switch. Sometimes is located in the Trunk or in front of vehicle on driver side under dash on left side panel.
