Not accelerating when stepping on the gas

I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee and last night upon driving I stepped on the gas and the car did not accelerate.
We had been driving for about 5 minutes prior, so it wasn't right away.
It would eventually jump and start going again, but sometimes it didn't and we would just coast as far as we could go until it kicked in again.
If we pulled over, shut it off and restarted it, it seemed to work fine for about 20 seconds.
Any thoughts?

Two things, It could be a fuel regulator or a plugged Catalatic converter or muffler. Give me feed back if you fixed this issue

    Thank you

OBD p1242 ,p0703,p0702 grand cheeroci

ok so 1242 is sensor power supply high input ,0703 is detected de-acceleration with no brake switch activity and 0702 is fault with trans control unit i'd guess your having running/accelerating problems ,have the codes wiped and road test and see if problems continue if they do i'd get the ECU checked out as a first step

2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo . when engines warm, i step on the gas it chokes and stalls, but then it restarts again

When you step on the gas pedal the engine commands are to give more fuel,so obvoiusly you have a fuel pressure problem, from a neede fuel filter or even a new pump or both

AC/Heater blower fan stops blowing air into the cabin when I accelerate.

Usually a vac leak. I would check for a leak in the HVAC control system and the line thru the firewall to the engine.

My '03 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo broke down. No reaction when the accelerator pressed. Any ideas? Evidently, it is not the relay switch.

i would look at the acutal gas line that goes from the tank to the input or i would look at the gas cable that goes from the pedal to the accelerator and see if it came disconnected. all you would have to do is connect that back up if it did come disconnected and then you should be good.

Sounds like alternator.Get it started then disconnect one lead from battery and see if it still runs. If not, then have your alternator checked.
