95 Tbird won't turn off with key

Hi I have a 95 Tbird that i am not able to turn off the engine with the key. To turn it off i have to pop the hood, pull a fuse. I also have to disconnect the battery cable, otherwise all the lights and everything will still be on. Turning the key towards me to turn it off its just loose and i can spin the whole ignition right around. It starts fine when i put the fuse and cable back on and use the key. Any ideas?

Go under the dash and check to see if the ignition starter switch is coming apart is the first thing to check. The switch is operated by a long rod from the ignition switch, it is near the base of the steering column tube on top of it. The other poss is that the tilt steering is going south and needs new parts for the rod actuator down to the switch.

Key won't open trunk for a 95 oldsmobile cutless supreme

Hi,
Do the rear seats fold down? If so, crawl in there may be a lever/latch to open the trunk from inside.

Take the car to a locksmith and they can fix the lock.

My 2002 tbird won't shift out of park I played with the shifter and rocked the car and got it out a couple of times

The first thing to do is check the brake lights, if they don't work the shifter lock will not release the shifter from park. The common problem on this model is the connector at the brake light switch is defective due to broken wires inside the plastic outer insulator.

My 2002 tbird won't get out ofnpark

If you cannot move the gearshift lever out of P (Park) with ignition in
the RUN position and the brake pedal depressed:
1. Apply the parking brake, turn ignition key to LOCK, then remove the
key.
2. Insert the key and turn it to OFF. Apply the brake pedal and shift to N
(Neutral). This allows the automatic transmission shift lever to be
moved from the P (Park) position without the brake pedal
depressed.
3. Start the vehicle.
If it is necessary to use the above procedure to move the gearshift lever,
it is possible that a fuse has blown or the vehicle's brakelamps are not
operating properly.

I have a 95 buick-new battery-turn key & nothing happens-won't turn over&where is the starter located

The starter is where the engine joins the gearbox, usually on the engine side. Check that he wiring it connected at the starter and the ingnition switch. Make sure the battery terminals are good and clean and tight. Otherwise the starter solinoid may be faulty, or the starter itself.
