I know nothing about cars, I only take mine in to the Kia Delaership every 3 months to get an Oil Change and get it looked over. I am able to replace the engine oil, coolant, washer fluid Etc. However I cant find where you put the A/T (Automatic Transmission Fluid) In I know where the DIP stick for the A/T is but cant find where to put the actual fluid in. Can anyone help with this. Not even the manual fully explains where this is.
    Thanks

My 2008 kia optima gear 2 incorrect ratio

You likely have a Check Engine light throwing a P0732 fault. This can be attributed by 1 or more of the following:

-Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit

Start with the transmission fluid. If it's full, check for signs of wear. It should be purple. If it's brown and/or is giving off a burning smell, it needs to be changed. If the fluid is full and in good condition, the problem is with the transmission itself. It could be an adjustment, a bad module, or a sign that the transmission is on it's way out. Best of luck with your problem and thank you for using Fixya.

Kia optima 2004, 148000 kms, run well but making vibration and noise while i stop at light.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

You may need to replace the engine and transmission supports. If they are worn out the engine tends to vibrates.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

2001 kia sportage . transmission does not change

Popular Problems Checks
1. Car will not go into gear:
  • Gear selector cable has failed
  • Brake lock solenoid/brake light swtich has failed not allowing the gear selector to move out of "Park"
  • Excessively low transmission fluid (note: if car is operated for an extended amount of time with low fluid level the transmission will fail prematurely)
  • Shorted electrical component not allowing the PCM to control the transmission. Example: shorted fuse
  • Flex plate (flywheel) is broken completely not transferring engine power to the transmission.
2. Car goes into gear but then fades out of gear or is slipping while driving:
  • Transmission fluid is low
  • Transmission clutch discs or bands are worn out or burned
  • Faulty transmission shift solenoid.
3. Car goes into gear but does not shift out of first:
  • Blown fuse to the PCM controller
  • Faulty vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
  • Shorted second gear control solenoid
  • Faulty transmission controller (PCM)
