2001 Chrysler Concorde - Changed the shift CABLE AND ****** FLUID and now it does not want to engage into gear and the reference lights (Park, neutral , drive etc.) are not stable. They flash back and forth and sometimes all at once. Also the key is now stauk in the ignition. What went wrong?

u gut some issues with the tv shift cable that is on the throttle body--ajust it--a mech manual shows u--library sec 629--if that doesnt du it then chec fluid level and cond-cud need changn-dont flush it tho--with older car-shift solenoids or valve body issue are common or more--maybe git it test driven by a honest mechanic

sounds like you may have a bad shift cable...is it column shift or counsel shift?

Sounds to me that you need your trans fluid changed and filter. When you do change it use a quart of Lucas transmission conditioner to it. Also check and see if you may have a bad univercel, It will also make it vibrate at faster speeds or your drive shaft may need to be rebalanced.

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID.IF LOW YOU HAVE A LEAK.IF FLUID LOOKS BURNT OR SMELLS CHANGE FLUID AND FILTER.CHECK AND ADJUST SHIFT CABLES.LOOK FOR DAMAGED OR DISCONNECTED MANUAL SHIFT CABLE.IF ALL IS GOOD.CHECK TRANSMISSION FUSE.HAVE VECHICLE SCANNED FOR SHIFT SOLENOID AND LINEAR SOLENOID LINE PRESSURE CONTROL CIRCUIT PROBLEMS.ALSO FAULTY PARK NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH SENSOR.

it sounds like your gearshift cable is broken..if you can jack up vehicle and support it safely,get someone to move shifter and look on driver's side of transmission and see if linkage is moving on trans..linkage is up near top of trans..i have seen this problem before
