The problem is very unlikely to be your flywheel it sounds as if your clutch diaphragm spring is either cracked or distorted.Sorry but it sounds like a gear box /clutch job not to bad .The scheduled time is 2.6hrs hope this helps

SOURCE: Bleeding clutch slave cylinder

i think youre doing the right thing. they are very stubborn to bleed because the hyd. line goes up high across back of engine before droppiing back down to slave cyl., trapping air. could try to gravity bleed by opening bleeder at slave, cap off of master cyl, full with fluid then it may start to come out after a bit. then try your process again. or can try to bleed at connections further up the line, working your way back to bleeder. hope this helps. be patient.

SOURCE: can't bleed coolant system on Audi A3!

In my experience with Audis, after any job requiring changing/draining the coolant the car ideally needs to be driven. With the coolant topped up to max drive the car, keep the revs up and shake the car with steering and over bumps where possible. Whatever you do make sure you take at least 2 litres of water/coolant with you, as as soon as the air lock goes, the level drops a lot and quickly. Also keep an eye on the temp gauge and avoid letting it go much over 90 degrees (over 90 on the gauge usually means its well into the hundreds) When you get consistant hot air through the heater, at idle, the level should of settled. If this doesnt work you may have thermostat issues or a blockage. Good luck, let me know how you get on.

SOURCE: Bleeding Clutch Cylinder with no bleeder screw

I have not tried myself but see if the link below will work for your case. It is not the same model as you have but most vehicles have the same components for the non electronic parts. http://www.2carpros.com/forum/1988-dodge-dakota--bleding-air-out-of-clutch-master-cylinder-vt248517.html

My 1997 Audi a3 is juddering when I change gears and it's low revs

Hi Kristopher, A shudder from the manual transmission is usually caused from a defective part in the clutch assembly. It could be caused by uneven wear of the pressure plate (clutch cover) or wear on the clutch plate boss (The center of the clutch plate with the springs or rubbers which absorb the torque when releasing the pedal) A shudder can be generated from a defective engine or gear box mount, worn CV joints or spiders or a loose bell housing. Start with the last suggestion and work backwards as the clutch replacement will require the most work. If the clutch assembly has been replaced recently, and the parts available are of the same quality we receive where I am, you will need to do the job over. Regards John

Audi a3 1996 1.6 5 speeds model. 1st flexi clutch pipe split..no clutch replaced pipe now no gear change..could it be worn clutch? car is in garage! help tp

First you must air bleeding out from inside hydraulic clutch acting system ! On the slave cylinder you will find an aeration screwed ventil provided for air bleeding. See picture below:

ee99bec.png Two person are necessary for this operation. One person for acting the clutch pedal and another person for air bleeding out from inside hydraulic clutch acting system by unscrewing the aeration ventil from slave cylinder. This operation is difficult, and must spend some time for successful result!

if they don't work than it is your brake light switch located on the pedal support bracket.
