1997 acura cl cant get the front rotors off - 1997 Acura CL

find a mech. that can look.
we cant
we cant see damage or missing parts. etc.
no one can, find live help, with eyes and hands.

That is not good. Brake Caliper was pressed back in? Calipers werer anchored properly? Torque wrench was used?

Lower kick panel under the dash on the driver side of the car. In mine it's right above the foot rest tucked up in the kick panel.

This is not easy. Look at the Cl brake blog by P48. You can get the rear caliper piston in the fully retracted position with a home-made tool to twist it clockwise. It is like a large "X". Make sure it is retreating into the body of the caliper which will allow the "thick" new pads to sandwich onto your (new) rotor.

Good job, P48. I had to drill out the head (s) of the screws that didn't want to come out. The rotors will self-align with out the screws but it is disconcerting. One screw will keep the disc on the hub while you are getting the caliper/pads in place.

I believe these rotors are pressed on. Removing them would need a shop press or a hydraulic puller if this is the same as my 96 accord (should be). VERY Hard to get off in a DIY environment.
