Coil pack must be checked it primary and secondary winding. vom or commonly called tester will do this checking,, on positive sign and negative sign hook the tester black and red.. if there is a movement in needle continuity is alright,, on negative side put the red wire and black on the coil head if there is a reading your problem the the voltage supply.

I keep asking the same question for a 1971 dodge 318-1 v8 engine and get every year but what im asking

The firing order for a Dodge 318cid/5.2L is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 clockwise rotation.
Cylinders are numbered like this.
Pass side 2-4-6-8 front to rear.
Driver side 1-3-5-7 front to rear.
The firing order is probably forged into the intake manifold. Number one tower on the distributor cap is the one facing the number one plug or the driver-side headlight.
Distributor rotor at Number 1 plug terminal points to front intake bolt on left side of engine.

Not getting any fire from distributor to plugs

check that you're getting spark from the coil to the distributor. Could be a bad coil or bad wire.

sounds like your rotor is bad, it does happen, and that would explain no spark to ignition wires to the plugs-look inside the distributor cap too, and replace it if you see moisture, hairline cracks, or the terminals are badly oxidized.

if it goes to the distributor than that is an ignition module.it takes a small signal from the distributor and switches on and off to make a signal with more current to drive the coil.if it is bad you will have no spark.

My car has no spark it has a new crank senor i tested the ecm it passed so what could it be

it is mounted on the side of the ignition distributor body, here is a picture, u should also change the Stator inside the distributor, this requires you remove the distributor from the engine and then drive out the roll pin that holds the drive gear on, this is not for the do it yourself-er
