Sounds like the shifter cable could have broke, or become disconnected or out of adjustment.

Hi and weclome to FixYa, I am Kelly,
It should be in the LH fuse block labeled "Tail" and will be a red 10 amp uterus thin plug in fuse.
It could be labeled Tail and Backup. Look at the inside or the fuse block cover to locate the 10 Amp Fuse. There are only 5 red ones.... worst case... remove them one at a time and look for the missing fuse link between the 2 terminals. That will be the bad fuse.
Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hummer 2002 blowing fuse pcb2
Blowing a fuse is a clear indicator that the current being drawn is exceeding the rating of the fuse that is designed to protect the circuit. The first item to check is the rating of the fuse and ensure that it is not under specification.
Then check to see if any additional accessories which have been installed have been added to that circuit if yes it may be necessary to increase the capacity of the fuse. If nothing new has been added to the circuit then the next item to check is for short circuits ie grounding of power wires through chaffing of the harness or through crush damage to the harness usually the result of a collision and repairs not identifying that the harness that passes through the damaged area is also damaged. Another are to check is if accessories have been added to the vehicle sometimes the mounting screws can be piercing the harness, try removing the mounting screws for the latest accessory to test this. Lastly it may well be that a short circuit in the PCB (printed circuit board) may be allowing higher than designed current flow in which case u need new PCB.

What type of anti-freeze is recommended?
Many newer cars from GM require Dex-Cool, but if you read the labels of regular antifreeze, from Prestone, for instance, the warranty is still 5 years and it can mix with any color antifreeze.
I use regular antifreeze vs. Dex-Cool in my 1997 Cadillac Deville and, (knock on wood) haven't had any problems.
I believe that Dex Cool is a little bit more expensive than regular antifreeze.
Use a 50/50 mixture of whatever type you plan to use, though.
I just bought a 2006
Maybe check to see if there is a 'fade' knob for adjusting front to back loudness of speakers.
