You will need a scanner capable of communicating with the transmission and retrieve the codes. However Honda has issues with transmissions especially after 100k mi. which require rebuilding or replacing.

One of two things will likely happen. Either it fell onto a cross member or something and will fall off while you drive, which should only result in road debris with a very minor chance that it could puncture a tire, or it will remain lost in the chasms of void space between a splash shield and a quarter panel, or similar. It's highly unlikely that it will result in any problems for your vehicle. You're ok to drive.

I would call dealer,as the newer model cars are a pain to change batteries unless you have a computer charger in cigarette lighter.

find a real ASE mechanic, noise is not something web bunnies can hear. or find.... and finding it can be extremely dangerous ( i use a sonic ear 4 channel stethoscope) (can drive with head phones and listen to 4 microphones (clamps) sad how you mech. gave up.; ; there is no need to . not ever. did he hear it, then give up? or did the not drive car, or what? if they can't hear it, they can not fix it. so......
