On dashboard check light stays ON after starting
If the light was flashing when it came on, then it means your engine is misfiring.
A solid light can mean anything from a loose/faulty gas cap to a transmission issue.
This
light comes on when the computer detects a
fault of some sort in its diagnostic tests. If it keeps detecting this
issue, the light will remain on. If the light turns off, then it has
detected that the issue may no longer be present.
In
order to find out what the exact reason was for your light, You need to
have your car computer scanned to retrieve the code that
the computer would have stored when the light triggered. Most garages
will do this free of charge. The code will tell you what may have
caused the light to initially turn on.

Car is over heating
If you have the 2.8L 30v V6, it's a very involved process that requires the teardown of the front of the engine to change it, as it's hidden behind a feeder panel under the timing covers. I'd recommend doing the full timing belt service at the same time to avoid duplicating the labor. A dealer charges $1100-1200 for parts and labor, and an independent shop likely around $800 (at least where I live). I do it for $600 parts and labor since I do it at my house in my garage, and don't have the overhead of a shop that I have to pay for. If you're in the NE US, reply here with an email address and I can discuss it with you.

I need a wiring diagram for an audi a6 towbar electrics, can anyone help? please email [email protected]
The best solution is to use a Vehicle Specific Wiring Kit, as these cars have complex electronics that do not like being overloaded, Also the car has towing specific safety systems (such at Trailer Stability Program) which only work if it knows it is towing. The car will need to be coded to recognise the towbar wiring and work the saftey systems properly after the kit has been installed. It's not cheap however, Expect to pay around £200-£250 for the whole job.
