As far as the cost of the trans work goes could you break it down by parts and labor, also what is the hourly labor rate, here it is $115 per hour. One last not be careful of the connectors to the trans, break them and u will need a new wiring harness, about $450.

Brake/signal/flasher, left side, not working tried bulb/fuse 2002 not 03
Are you getting power to the bulbs when the function is engaged? If so, you have a bad ground somewhere. You can search all you want for the bad ground, or find the correct wire that's ground and tie into it, then ground that new wire. It's not the proper way to fix it, but it is alot faster.

Brake peddle jumping back
Peddle jumping is your anti lock brakes activating. Rumbling could be anti lock recycling or your brakes are grinding and need replacing

I have seen both wood and bricks used to put under a seat frame. Some of the seat mounts do not give you much room for using a wrench. They give you room for a 3/8th air rachet and socket. Especially if you are a little shorter you can elevate the frame and then put wood in the cavity and then lower the seat for a temporary fix.
There are some operating parts I have no name for, but they connect the gears on each side of the seat track. So the wood blocks have to fit between these parts. I can recommend a Salvage yard called "Parts Galore" which is expanding Nationwide. Again wrenching on this stuff is hard without power tools.
Can't address swapping passenger and driver tracks. Check out small "C" clamps or conduit clamp.
