2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I have a 02 Monte Carlo. I have changed crankshaft
Did The OBDII scan of the stored fault history, indicate all of the parts you changed were bad. The TPS (throttle position sensor) is the only sensor that is subject to physical wear and age (2002). A dirty air filter will put the MAF (mass airflow sensor) out of range. Always let the stored fault history be your guide to any repairs to avoid buying parts you don't need. Also be aware of the low oil sensor function, it will disable the ignition if more than a quart low. Always do the cheapest fixes first.

What is radio reset code?
This was an anti-theft measure GM put in cars for a few years. If the radio is stolen it will show up as "locked" when installed in another vehicle. The only way to get the code that I am aware of is to take vehicle to a dealer and they can contact GM with the VIN number and get the code. With that they can unlock the radio.
Where is the starter located?
Normally it on the bottom right hand side of the engine. Right side being the passenger side of the engine. Just follow the positive cable from the battery and it will go to the starter.
