common problem on these vans is a clogged EVAP Cannister... they clog full of very fine sand... Pull out the cannister (close to the fuel tank) carefully pry it open.. if it's full of sand, replace it... along with the pre-filter if it has one of those.

Does it idle properly? If it idle properly and surges when you mash on the gas,you have a fuel pressure problem,you will need to measure the fuel pressure it has to be at 35psi to 45 psi

ur havin warmup issues--get car scanned--do a complete checover also-makin sure radiator fluid is norml cause the coolant sensor gives info--inspect thermostat-mite not be closed on warmup--throttle body and idle air is probly filthy--

brake light switch is bad it is mounted on or near brake pedal shaft

if you have changed out the brake light switch try looking up where the pedal is attached to the car i had a honda and there was a little clip that when the brake isnt pushed it would shut the brake lights off and so when i figured it out i just fixed it by sticking a fender clip in its replacement and it worked.

Sounds like the battery. If its not holding power it will cause the car to die. The alternator will charge the battery and keep power to the vehicle, but the battery is also apart of the process. Replace the battery and check the battery cables for corrosion. At autozone or wherever you go to get a new battery get some terminal grease/protector for your battery. Its like .99 for a packet and will help keep your connections to the battery from corrosion.

Possible bad starter. have a qualified tech check it in the vehicle. its not fun pulling it out to test and find out its good. Other easier items to check are all battery connections to battery, body terminals, block and starter for corrosion and security. New battery doesn't mean its good. Good luck
