ViewCast Osprey - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

It is a long gone product that is unsupported by Pinnacle. I DID happen to find a German site that still had the DVD Driver disc available for download though! Give it a go. It appears to be in 3 parts. ftp://ftp.pinnaclesys.de/driver/pc/DV500/DV50045.htm

They should have a windows 7 driver. I suggest that you contact Viewcast Tech support. David

Here's an easy way to install or update your sound card driver:

After you have downloaded the above file, double-click on it and follow the simple steps to install it. Then, when it asks if you want to run it, just answer yes. This is easier than manually searching, downloading and installing the drivers.

The breakout cable has the RCA connectors needed. Yellow is Video, Red and White are the 2 audio inputs. Alternate inputs are the 1/8" stereo jack for sound and the S-Video plug. (not to be used all together).

Also check the setup for recording, that the audio source is selected properly.

you must connect all cameras to solve this problem.if your capture card supports e.g. 4 cameras and you are only 1,2 or 3 connected the image can be poore.your video card has nothing to do with this.

since the audio works but not the video, it sounds as though the problem might be in the codec, not the driver. check card provider to see if there is an updated codec pac or new service pac. try: http://www.viewcast.com/driverdownload.asp

Check the internet connection. The television can't update if it can't see the internet. Resetting it breaks the previous settings. Just for fun, reboot the router as well and wait 15 minutes until all the lights come back on. Then reestablish the television connection to the router. general steps: Get the TV remote control and push the "Menu" button and select "Options". Select "Child Lock" from the "Options" list. On some televisions, the "Child Lock" is named "V-chip". Choose the "Remove Child Lock" selection. Highlight this and then hit the "Enter" button. Enter the four-digit code that you used when you activated the child lock feature. If you cannot remember it, your only option to deactivate the child lock is to reset the TV. The instructions for resetting a TV is written on the user's manual of the TV. Exit the TV menu once you have entered the four-digit code. To do this, press the "Exit" or "Menu" button on the TV's remote control. If you don't have a remote, you might try leaving the TV unplugged overnight. Some TVs will 'forget' their settings if left without power for a long period. You could also potentially buy a cheaper universal remote, and use that to turn off the child lock.

That sounds like it has a backlight fault. A good TV engineer can possibly repair that for you.
