I have a dual basket 12 Qr fryer had taken out of the box to use it.Plug it in and the light won't come on.The reset is set.

No, Deep Fryers are dangerous so cords are kept purposely short to prevent accidents. Also 1800 watts draws a lot of amps, so extending the cable can cause the cable to heat up. Move the fryer to an outlet, or have a new outlet installed where you want the fryer. Your island would benefit from extra built in sockets.

Dear Sir:
Thank you for writing back about my stuck fry pan. Guess what, I did it. First, I put it in the freezer and by physics of course steel contracts. So I waited about 1 and half hour and then I took it out and w/a steel spatula I pried it open. I guess it was overly pressurised. I was a happy camper. Love my Presto Pride pans I have had them since I was in the Marine Corps back in the 60's. Went to a demonstration in someone's home. Paid a pretty penny for it then but look how long it lasted. I don't have a glass solution, but if you frydaddy is like mine, it has a 7.25 inch dia lid. For about $2 the "Glad Big Bowl" (6 cup size) plastic containers have a lid that fits pretty well.
