SOURCE: Shower faucet does not switch to hot.

Hi,

This has happened to me in the past and had exactly the same symptoms but with a different valve. Before trying the below, it may make sense to be 100% sure that hot water is definitely getting to the valve .. can you get access to touch the hot feed pipe to make sure that it is in fact the valve at fault.

The following could be the issue:

1. The shower valve has a bit of dirt or gunk in it and is unable to allow the hot water through. It can happen with a very small amnount of dirt and is a real pain as it requires disassemble of the entire valve assembly.

2. The valve has failed and needs to be replaced - This was the solution to mine and was also significant in terms of effort.

Hope this helps, if so please leave feedback, if not let me know and I'll try and help some more!

Testimonial: "thankls for the info - I'll give it a try."

SOURCE: I just installed my Delta Multichoice Valve Trim

If you look inside the shower head from the back where the threads are you can see a flow restrictor, if you take it out you get a lot better flow.

Brand new delta single handle shower valve won't shut off

If your new Delta single handle shower valve won't shut off, it could be due to an issue with the valve itself or with the installation. Some possible causes include a misaligned handle, debris in the valve body, or a faulty cartridge. It is best to check the installation instructions and ensure that everything is properly seated and aligned. If that does not solve the issue, you may need to contact Delta customer service for further assistance or consider hiring a plumber to diagnose and fix the problem.

I installed a new 17 series single handle with temperature control unit several monthsa ago during a complete shower rebuild. No that I am ready to fire up the water, I can't get the water from from...

Remove handle and check temperature adjustment it maybe out. Remove handle and slide little adjustment gear out and move it a 1/4 turn and reinstall it to see if any difference occurs. If it is not set right you want be able to turn water off and possibly cartridge maybe be bad. With it being brand new and it should work out of the box take it back if no simple fixes will work. You want the best and not have to work on something you just bought anyway. Something may have been left off the cartridge maybe seat bad or o ring.

I have a Delta kitchen faucet model #467-SSSD-DST. The cold water flow and/or pressure is not adequate. The flow and pressure from the hot water side is fine. What may I do to fix my cold water problem?

Hi,
Take the handle off (set screw underneath)
Then turn the top off under the handle....make sure water is off...
then you will find a ball with the handle stem on it....note the position of it and pull it out...
under there are two wets of springs and rubber seats...
pull the right side out and check the hole for a blockage...(dirt or rust)
if none is visible, you may have to unhook the cold water supply hose
and then blow compressed air back through the hole to remove the blockage...
then reassemble...

Installed Delta 16955-SSSD Stainless Steel Victorian Single Handle Kitchen 16955-SSSD a couple months ago. About a couple weeks ago experienced low flow for about 4 hours then started working fine. Now...

Remove spay head from the end of the sprayer hose and turn the water on. If you have good pressure without the head, call Delta and ask for a new spray head. If you still have low water pressure without the spray head attached, call Delta and ask for a new ceramic disc cartridge free.

Attempted to update a single level "diamond" ball shower handle for an older Delta 600 series. Everthing seemed to go well, but when I turned the water supply back on, and when the handle was pointed...

On a single lever shower handle, when the handle is pointing straight down the water is off. The handle will then rotate 270 degrees to the right through cold - warm - hot. What has happened is when you took the other handle off the new handle didn't go into the same position as the old one. So now when the handle stops at the down position the valve is still open probable running cold water. The fix is to take the handle back off. Rotate the valve into the off position so that water stops flowing and reinstall the handle pointing down. Now when you rotate the handle to the right you will get cold then warm then hot at 270 degrees and back to off when the handle is pointing back straight down. If you are still having problems please let me know and we will examine it a little closer.

Pressure surging thru Delta single handle faucet. The water flow starts and stops suddenly when the faucet is more than half way on. Same for hot and cold.

I don't know if this is your problem or not, But I had a new faucet and it did the same thing. I found little tiny pieces of polishing media stuck in side the faucet. Every time you turn on the water it comes out fast , then trickles, drove me nuts, I took it back and got another, no problem, hope this helps.

We have a newly installed Delta single-handle shower faucet and cannot figure out HOW to get a warm water mix. No matter where we turn the handle, we get different temperatures of "cold."

That is a graduated water mixer valve, and it sometimes has a little white water restrictor blocking flow from your hot water port. See if that was left in by removing the handle with all water shut off to the valve and reattach then try again. This can also happen if you have a tankless water heater because pressure controls heat. Typically a Tankless water heater system will require little, to no cold water to your bathtub valve because of the heavy water flow at the tap. Remember, flow equals temperature. Less flow = more heat, more flow = less heat.
