Removal of window winder assembly for 1500 Daewoo

Door card will need removal and possibly a new door window mech as the window runs up and down a runner by a cable and either motor or winder. Sometimes you can put them back in but more often than not something has broken.

you shoud replace the window winder motor/assembly. the cable from the motor has likely broken loose from the asembly bracket. this can sometimes be repaired, but any professional mechanic would just replace the whole assembly. fixing the assembly is somewhat of a jimmy-rig, and it doesnt always last very long.

Removal & Installation-Get at it from behind the lens assembly.
These instructions show how to remove and replace the whole light assembly but shows a diagram
on what it looks like.

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   
   
   • Negative battery cable
   • Push pins
   • Bolts connecting headlamp unit to fender
   • Bulb sockets from headlamp unit
   • Headlamp unit

To Install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   • Bulb sockets
   • Headlamp unit to fender with the bolts
   • Seal and push pins
   • Negative battery cable

you will have to puchase a window handle removal tool from your local parts store. KD makes a good one but you wiil have to use this tool to remove a clip that holds the "winder " on.

That assembly is call the window regulator or elevator. An you can get a replacement without the motor, they run about $100 and is sold at most autoparts stores.

The fault is with the regulator on the window. Remove winder and door handles. Remove door lining and reconnect window to winder rail. Reverse for reassembly

it would be alot less stressful if you just replace the whole thing from a salvage yard

it is attached with a wire clip and there s a very affordable removal tool which slips behind the crank handle and pushes it out....it can be dug out with a hook scribe but a bit frustrating and can cause minor damage to the trim

Remove plastic studs from door closer. Unscrew three retaining screws. remove grab.
Unhook window winder retaining clip. Best done with small long-nose pliers. window winder retaining clip located inside plastic winder handle section. Will need to prise away winder handle from door slightly to expose clip. locate and gently pull clip from winder shaft.
unscrew door opener / lock assembly retaining screw.
gently prise lower trim retaining press studs from door. remove lower trim.
gently , from rear of door, pull upper trim from door and similtaniously prise upper trim press studs from door.
gently giggle door opener / lock assembly through upper trim . remove trim
gently with flat blade, peel off plastic dust sheeting.
access to inside off door is now possible.
Reassembly reverse of above
