Cant play certain movies due to lack of sound devise. cant play sample musics.please help.

go to the website the model of laptop and select driver-install the driver for hot keys

Download and install the codec for OS Windows "K-Lite Mega Codec Pack or K-Lite Codec Pack" latest version from http://www.free-codecs.com/index.htm

it sounds like the drivers are missing
where it is showing yellow.
try and up date them drivers from the boot up disc.

Check you sound settings are not set for something like concert hall or similar.

is it movie or music?
if it is movie use g-spot to find out which codec is missing

if it is music check your soundcard and the options in windows media player

thats because of overheating your laptop can become slow.....due to this only you cant play music or movies....due to overheating your computer may be overloaded and due to this your laptop will be hanged.....the solution is.... you should increase the speed of the ram or you should increase the processor speed of your laptop.....these ways you can solve the problem on your laptop.....for that you have to buy a new ram or processor....and fit it.....if you dunno how to fit.....where you buy itself ok.....there shop guys will fit it for you.....dont worry..... this will give 100% solution....because i am a software engineer and i used to it....try this.....

are you trying to use the surround sound for movies or music ? , ive got the dvd version of this system (sc-dv290) and ive noticed the surround sound tends not to perform well with music , but sounds great with movies. i think its because the movies have dolby digital and music does not. The dolby pro logic in my opinion doesnt really make that much of a difference in sound unless the sound is cranked up past 44db on the amplifier. the only cables you need are the ones that are attached to the surround sound speakers and they cannot be removed so it cant be the wiring . I reckon you have a 1 - faulty system 2 - listening to music 3 - maybe not pressing the pro logic button on the sound processor. Hope this helps

it sounds like the blu ray lens is broken, if its under warranty then sony sholud replace it, make sure you back up your data. Their number can be found on the website. sorry i cant help more but this is one for the experts
