Check USB power cable it could be bad. If you have a micro USB connect to computer. If it gets power then you charger is bad.

Also, you may want to check the data cable and that it is the proper one.

You will need to go on line to Garmins website here is the link www.Garmin.com Look in your packet with the instructions for your unit you should find a card with your registration info. Register your unit by creating a new user name and password. The site should prompt you through the rest.
