Asus laptop I am guessing only has USB interfaces
lx-300 being a pre-historic printer most likely it uses a centonics parallel interface connector..
you might need a usb to centronics adapter
no guarantee asus will accept adapter there might be a driver as well for this type of adapter

Yes. you can find parallel to usb cable which cost around £5-10. Alternatively, is your printer have network port...you can use that also to connect it to your computer.

The USB to parallel converter does not always work.

You should buy a Parallel port for your computer if you have can extra slot inside the machine. The cost for the parallel port is usually under $20.
